North Country Transport LLC is registered with the state of Idaho and is commercially insured for passengers, offering wheelchair-accessible transportation services throughout North Idaho, from Bonners Ferry and Sandpoint to Coeur d’Alene and Spokane, and into Montana.
From recreational events to airport transportation to medical appointments, we'll get you to your destination on time! All drivers have been professionally trained and are drug-tested to DOT standards. We strive to be courteous and helpful, whether answering a question or carrying your luggage.

Compassionate Experience
With more than 15 years of experience in non-emergency medical transportation and an extensive background in community social services for 25 years, we understand the unique transportation needs of our rural North Idaho communities- from distant 🏥 appointments in Coeur d’Alene or catching a flight ✈️ on a cold winter morning, we know what it takes to get you there safely, comfortably and on time!
Services and Guidelines
Transportation is arranged by appointment only, with minimum of 24 hours advance notice preferred.
North Country Transport, LLC is fully covered with $1 million commercial transportation passenger insurance policy.
North Country Transport operates 6 days a week, with Sunday typically off.
Our plan is to be as transparent as possible with our rate schedule. Fee for service is calculated by distance traveled and waiting time. Our rates are calculated to be as affordable as possible and are subject to change.
Our rate is $45 per round trip when completed within an hour; for rural trips, the first 15 miles are free, then $$1.60/mile. Attendant rides free. Waiting time is $15 per half hour, with the first half hour free.
Payment is accepted at the completion of the trip- cash, credit card, Venmo and other online forms of payment are all accepted. For repeated medical trips to the same location (therapy, treatments, etc), prior arrangements can be made to pay weekly.
We operate minivans with rear entry heavy-duty wheelchair ramps outfitted by Vision Mobility or Freedom Motors. This setup features a self-tightening 4 corner restraint system with a separate restraint for the wheelchair passenger.
Our vans can accommodate 3 additional passengers along with the wheelchair passenger. We have a fire extinguisher, first aid kit and other safety equipment in the vehicle if needed.
Safety of clients and drivers is paramount. All passengers must be able to sit safely in the van with a safety restraint in place for the duration of the trip. If cognitive or physical impairments make this impossible, then alternative transportation arrangements will be required.
All drivers are certified in First Aid and CPR, but are not medically trained beyond this. If a medical emergency occurs enroute to the destination, our driver will proceed to the closest hospital ED or call 911, whichever is deemed appropriate.
Our service is designed to provide safe and comfortable transportation door-to-door. If you or a loved one has an appointment at a physician’s office or hospital, our driver will be happy to accompany you inside and wait until you get where you need to go. Please have an attendant or family member available to assist beyond this.
